GO London Easter Adventure – Lake District 2025 Recap
We've just returned from an unforgettable Easter weekend in the Lake District with 27 wonderful hikers, and what an adventure it was! From rugged mountain trails to lakeside lunches, windswept summits to warm BBQ evenings — this trip had it all.
Day 1 – The Journey Begins
Our weekend kicked off with a scenic drive up to the Lakes, full of anticipation, snacks, and road trip playlists. We arrived at our cozy hostel, got settled, and enjoyed a relaxing evening catching up and preparing for the hikes ahead.
Day 2 – High Raise & Sergeant Man
Our first full day of hiking took us up to High Raise and Sergeant Man, where we were met with breezy ridges and light showers that added to the Lake District charm. Spirits stayed high as the group tackled the undulating terrain, rewarded by expansive views across the fells. Back at the hostel, we tucked into a lovely homemade tagine dinner, which warmed us right up and brought everyone together around the table.
Day 3 – High Street & a Windy Battle
This day was a real test of grit. We hiked the mighty High Street, where the wind turned up its power — a true battle to walk at times! The group split for safety and experience: one team tackled the tops, while the other descended through a beautiful valley. Everyone reconvened later for a well-earned evening out in Ambleside, where warm food and a cold pint never tasted so good.
☀️ Day 4 – Dollywaggon Pike & Lakeside Vibes
The sun finally made a strong appearance as we summited Dollywaggon Pike under blue skies and basked in the beauty of a proper spring day. We enjoyed lunch by a glistening lake — picture-perfect and peaceful. Back at the hostel, we lit the BBQ and celebrated with grilled food, laughter, and a golden-hour sunset. The perfect way to wrap up our big hiking days.
Day 5 – Ambleside Wander & Homeward Bound
Our final morning was spent at a slower pace — exploring Ambleside, grabbing last-minute souvenirs, and reflecting on a brilliant weekend. Then it was back on the road and home to London, tired but fulfilled.
